Ok so there IS no official help to someone who wants to buy a guitar in chennai. So here's gyan from the guru
Me first calls Just dial Services. What you are looking for is a decent branded Acoustic guitar at Rs. 2500-3000. Givson is a decent brand that starts from 2100 to 2500. But beware there are a Gazillion stickers that resemble this Givson some say Grason others say some shit and all the shopkeeers told me they're all from the same maker they change names for tax problems I think thats crap. I went to their T nagar branch there was a black guitar twas a Givson Brand n the moment I expressed interest the rates went up from 2350 to 2650. Pretty good deals u can bargain but the brands aren greAt i the t nagar branch

This guy makes custom guitars n has a good collection of second hand guitars..price around 1500 bucks u can get both new ones n second hand stuff at that rate don go here unless u r ok with playing on a crappy instrument for practice n then go for a good one
All these shops have tie ups with music academies and look to sell bulk stuff so u dont go in thinking u can get a good deal if u buy 2 one for u n one for a friend they don give a damn.
Lakshman Shruthi had a fine collection that was a mix of good stuff n bad stuff. High rates low rates they got everything this is THE place u wanna check out first.
String musicals near Duraiswamy subway was where I got the gyan from cuz the guy who was varnishing a Veena told me more bout Guitars than all of the above mentioned shop keepers put together. N finally I got my Guitar a black Pluto for 3000 at Murali musicals which is also near duraiswamy subway.
